It was faith that brought this empire together, unifying its people as one nation with one spiritual language and one religion. The 1000 years from the 8^th to 17^th century A.D. marked a period in history when culture and learning flourished in the Islamic Empire. At the time when Europe was mostly nothing but mud huts, illiterate peasants, and barbaric fighting nations of Romans, Britains, Danes, Saxons, Angles, Franks, etc.; in the Islamic Empire, new discoveries were made, new sciences were developed, arts were enhanced beyond what words can say, and the heritage of the past was preserved.
